Visual Learning
If you use this visual style, you prefer using images, pictures, colours, and maps to organize information and for communication. You can easily imagine objects, plans and outcomes in your mind. Visual Learners also know their way around very well, and are great at using maps. They love drawing, scribbling and doodling, especially with colours.
Visual learners usually:
- Like to read
- Have good spelling
- Have neat and easily readable handwriting
- Very organised (i.e folders/book space)
- Would rather watch, then talk or do something
- Can memorize things by seeing them on paper

Kinaesthetic Learning
If you are a Kinaesthetic Learner, it's likely that you use your body and sense of touch to help you learn. They like sports and exercise, and other physical activities such as gardening or building. You like 'getting your hands dirty,' and making models, or working out jigsaws or puzzles. When you are learning a new skill or topic, you would desire to 'jump in' and play with the physical parts as soon as possible, instead of reading the instructions first. You tend to learn by doing things over and over again, i.e. physical demonstrations.
Kinaesthetic Learners usually:
- Are good at sports
- Like being in Science Labs
- Study with loud music on
- Like reading adventure books or watching TV/movies
- Like being involved in role play
- Take breaks when studying
- Enjoy building models

The most common learning styles within training sessions are Auditory and Visual Learning. A teacher is most likely to stand at the front of the class and teach them by talking and using gestures. However, teachers also commonly write on a white board, retrieve images or use PowerPoint presentations from their computers to present to the class through a projector. This way it effectively helps many pupil’s learning, but can damage kinaesthetic learners who learn by touch or doing things. One subject that may interest and be helpful to Kinaesthetic learners is Science; where many demonstrations and experiments take place; where you are able to physically get involved with the sense of touch and using your body.
